Let there be fluorescent light!

Today's project involved shop lighting. One of the last little garage improvements we need to do before we can start on other projects.



We went to Home Depot and picked up 2 4' Fluorescent Lights, Fluorescent Bulbs, extension cord (to make light power cable), plugs, chain, and hooks. This is all we need to install the lights.



After wiring up the fixtures, we hung the chain.



..and we have light!



After installing the lights we decided to add some more wood to the work table we made. We found some extra trim in the garage and nailed it to the back corner of the table. Also, there is now a foot rest for under the bench. We knew something just wasn't right...

Next weekend we plan on building another work bench, one on caster wheels. Once we have that bench we plan on buying our first solar panel. Yay!



The two fixtures hold 4 bulbs, each bulb requires 32W of power, 128 Watts total. This is 64% of what a 200W solar panel could supply. We're going to need a lot more panels if we plan to have more appliances.
